“Fabulous” says FuturEnergy MD Peter Osborne FuturEnergy, based near Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire design, build and market small wind turbine systems for micro-generation of electricity. They are quick to point out that generating electricity from wind is location specific.
“If you don’t have enough wind in your sails then installing a wind turbine is a waste of everybody’s time.” says Peter Osborne.
Before the Power Predictor arrived, Peter and his team relied on wind maps to judge site suitability for their customers. However, as these only give wind energy data per square kilometre, the figures don’t take in to consideration all the tall trees, surrounding buildings and obstacles which could blow the wind energy out the window.
FuturEnergy can now use the Power Predictor to accurately measure and store the wind energy data for an exact location. Peter commented the software which created the Power Report was “seriously scientific” and was keen to point out we have “every angle covered” since by selling something as easy to use as the Power Predictor to their customers should mean less travelling to different sites to assess the suitability - saving carbon through reduced travel!
“Will wind power work for me?” is the question dreaded by all wind turbine installers since it's so difficult to answer properly... However, Peter Osborne is confident he and FuturEnergy can now use the Power Predictor to provide the right answer backed up by real facts.
